1950 Census Resources and Celebrating Lincoln's Birthday!

The Fox Valley Genealogical Society shares some excellent tips and resources on preparing for the 1950 census, from genealogist Thomas MacEntee! In the latest Fox Trails Newsletter article, "The 1950 Census: Are You Ready?" Thomas answers some frequently asked questions about the census, and provides tips for how to prepare for the census release on April 1st. Plus, there is a list of great website resources included. Celebrate President Lincoln's life and legacy this February with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum!

For Springfield area residents: The ALPLM is partnering with the Lincoln Library, the Springfield Public Library, and Compass for Kids to hold the Lincoln Read-A-Thon and Book Drive this Saturday, February 12th. Local community leaders will read favorite children's books throughout the day, and you can donate books to the book drive! The Read-A-Thon will also be streamed live on the ALPLM's Facebook and YouTube channel. Plus, admission to the ALPLM is FREE on February 12th, in honor of Lincoln's birthday!

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation's Four Score Speaker Series celebrates the 16th President's life with a webinar series featuring noted authors and Lincoln experts. Check out their upcoming webinars HERE!
