OXLEY Christmas 1931
OXLEY Christmas 1931. This is my mother and Grandmother Christmas, 1931 in Marseilles, IL (on Illinois St.) My mother was Betty Matthews (Catherine Elizabeth, later she married my Dad, Harry Farmer) and my Grandma was Jennie Buffo Matthews. I love the 1930 car and the old toys and clothes. My mother would have been 4 in the photo and my Grandma (an Italian immigrant in 1901) would have been 32. My Grandmother was born in northern Italy, about 30 miles north of Torino. My mother was born in Marseilles, IL, at home, in the house where they stand on Illinois Street. Submitted by Pat Oxley.

My uncle, Robert Laverne Shannon, born 4 Nov 1929 in Aurora, IL. died 20 Feb 2008 in Santa Monica, CA. And my father, William Alfred Shannon aka Billy :-) And my aunt, Barbara.
