Fox Valley Genealogical Society Conference - Saturday, October 1, 2016



On Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Fox Valley Genealogical Society, Naperville, Illinois, will present our annual all-day conference at Grace United Methodist Church, Naperville. The featured speaker will be David McDonald, CG®.

David is a Certified Genealogist® who is a trustee and past president of the Board of Certification of Genealogists. David is a former director of the National Genealogical Society and past editor of the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society newsletter. An ordained Protestant minister his specialties include the Midwest, migration patterns across the United States, religious records and denominations. He has lectured widely in the Midwest on various genealogical topics.

The conference theme is Church or Court: Where did Grandma Go?

David McDonald, CG® will present four lectures entitled:

3. Reach for the Power Tools: Record Transcription & Analysis

4. The Other Side of the Courthouse: Criminal & Civil Court Records

Genealogy vendors will be on-site. Door prizes are also featured. Muffins and coffee before 9 a.m. and boxed lunch are included. Grace United Methodist Church is at 300 E. Gartner Rd., Naperville, Illinois, conveniently located just east of Washington Street (north of 75th Street and west of Naper Boulevard).
